First Flight Centennial Celebration in Kitty Hawk, NC

An eagle circled the famous flight path
of the Wright Brothers at the Wright
Brothers National Memorial in a
graceful and telling flight.
One of the 100 skydivers that jumped in unison as part of the Tuesday, December 16, air show at the Wright Brothers National Memorial. The monument shines like a beacon on one of the highest points on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Raincoat-clad people anxiously await the moment when the Wright Flyer will exit the Countdown to Kitty Hawk pavilion,
in the background, to make its
December 17 flight.
